Issue with recieving any emails
Today is June 22nd 2026 , I was busy all weekend and I just checked my mail this morning , I noticed that the last email I got was Thursday June 18th 2026 , so I right clicked and clicked on "Get Messages" , suddenly I have about 40 emails , dating from the 19th to today , I have complained before about having issues with emails being a day or so late and was told that is when they were sent .... I am calling BS on that response and repeating my claim that something is WRONG with Thunderbird and how (or IF) it recieves emails , because there is no way that ALL the emails I normally get all decided at once to wait to send them to me till today (and I only got them because I clicked on Get Messages , otherwise I most likely still wouldn't have recieved any emails for several days from the date they were supposed to show up)
I can't be the only one with this issue , so hopefully someone has looked into this and come up with a actual FIX , , I have had this email program since Windows stopped Windows 10 Mail and honestly , since its been out for years prior to that , I would think it wouldn't still be buggy as it is , there are lots of features that are just combersome to use (like mass deleting emails by Name) all the way to just actually getting emails on time when they were actually sent (I have literally been on the phone with someone and they send me a email , and I don't get it for hours or sometimes days or sometimes not at all , and they are from people I have recieved emails from before and are part of my address book , so I should get them within minutes at most , not days or never ...
I am about ready to go find something else that is relaiable (and looks better , as I can't even add one of my pictures as a Background , and Light/Dark mode sucks as far as looks goes unless you are some GOTH person or something) and actually user friendly (when I swtiched to this email program it was better than most of the others offered at the time , but honestly , it has never improved and has remained unfinished as far as I am concerned) , it says it "updates" all the time , but I have not noticed ANY improvements in Functionality or looks since I first downloaded it , and for as long as Thunderbird has been available , it should not still be in Beta form and actually function at least as well as Microsoft's outdated emails programs did , but as of this ongoing issue , it is still slow and clunky , it may or may not send you emails depending on the day , and is a pain to navigate things that should be easily accessible on the main page with a simple click , again I'm comparing it to Outlook Express which has been obsolete for years , and Windows 10 Mail because as old as they are , they functioned much better than this email ever has and look much better , at least they allowed personal pictures for a Background
If you don't have a actual FIX for this ongoing issue , then I think it's time for me to move on and find something that actually functions like a email program should , by actually being able to recieve emails faster than Pony Express , which was last used because it was too slow over 165 years ago
If you DO have a FIX for this ongoing issue of not recieving emails when they were actually sent (I complained about this exact issue back in January) , not days later , or being able to close Thunderbird and still get emails alerts (you know like Microsoft has for years , and as much as I dislike Microsoft and their policies and FORCED Feature Windows Updates that screw up everything , at least they had a decent and functional email program since Windows 95 through Windows 10 Mail , but all they offer now is Outlook and I don't do online emails , I want it on my Desktop , which is why I went to Thunderbird in the first place) , maybe since they discontinued theirs , you could just copy/paste everything from it and call it Thunderbird
At least then it would work like it should , and look better , and actually not have to just minimize it in the taskbar so you will know at some point that you got a email , or to make it automatically start when Windows does , so I don't have to manually open it every time I restart my PC , since I have yet to find a setting for that , or if it is there its most likely hidden behind 40 other things you need to open to get to it , even though most likely the email alert sound never happens , maybe 2 times a month if I'm lucky , and even if it is several days late , (like I said 40 different people/companies didn't suddenly decide to wait 3 or more days to all send their emails at once , and only after I clicked Get Messages , oh , by the way , they are EMAILS NOT MESSAGES , a Message is a Text or Chat , a Email is a Email , maybe that is the issue , it doesn't know what its looking for)
As mentioned this has been a ongoing issue that I have complained about before , with no solution , and that no one here seems to want to address or actually FIX or even let me know they are working on a solution (which it seems like no one is) , so I'm tired of complaining to deaf ears , Helen Keller would have figured out what is wrong by now and she is Deaf , Blind and Dead ... When I am expecting a email from a Doctor that has info on a test or something , I need it when they send it , not days later or never .... I keep missing important emails because this program is and has been iffy at best since I have had it ...
I understand that the majority of the Staff for Thunderbird is Volunteers , but it just seems like no one cares what users experience and just brush it off and forget about it , and that is the issue I am and have been feeling with Support .... Not trying to be a jerk , I'm just frustrated with the lack of concern with how this program has and still does function
Thanks ..... Jim

On a prior post of yours on a similar issue, a suggestion was made to check via web mail, the intent being to see what date the mail arrived on the server. But you declined, saying you don't like webmail. Well, that is my suggestion here: to determine when mail arrives at your account, the best place to check is the server, not the email client. Depending on your account setup, mail that arrived at server several days ago may not appear in Thunderbird until given the request by user to check server.
And, the volunteers you interact with are volunteers, but there are overseers as well, and issues that appear related to Thunderbird stability or performance are promptly reviewed with developers. This being an open source product, there is high pride among the developers for the quality of Thunderbird and its features. The problem you are reporting is not something widely observed. With millions of users, developers also must set priorities. From your complaints, I question why you remain with Thunderbird, as you are obviously unhappy with it. While we never like to see someone leave, you may be happier elsewhere.

Thank you for the quick reply , however this is exactly the reason for my complaint , again it seems like the issue , which IS a issue , is being brushed off , what is the point of having a PC based Email if I need to constantly check "online" to see if it's working correctly , sorry but that is NOT a solution or a FIX , it's a brush off , and the fact that your first thought is for me to go elsewhere just shows the lack of caring for this product , whether it is Free or otherwise is irreelevant , it should WORK and Function correctly and EVERY complaint , especially a ongoing one should be looked into
I hadn't left yet because I was trying to give you guys the benifit of the doubt and hoping it would be addressed , but judging by your response , it looks like that is not going to happen if 50,000 people don't have the exact same complaint , then it's not worth your effort to address and actually look to see if there is a issue with delivery and to address it ......
Again , thanks for the reply , however it is actually no different or better solution than the one back in January , which is basically a diversion more than addressing the elephant in the room , and addressing the actual issue that IS a issue and a fault within the program that hasn't , and judging by the effort to resolve it , won't ever be addressed or even looked into , as I am sorry , but saying that the emails arrived because of when they were sent is complete BS , since the dates on them are several days ago , that still means that Thunderbird didn't recieve them when they WERE SENT , which is the complaint ... , and you know it , since no other email program out there , prior or present , except this one , has that issue , when you send a email , it should be delivered as fast as the internet connection allows , , if I was on dial up it would still be faster than how Thunderbird has been working on a much faster connection
Thanks for the Reply , however , its sad that it's pretty much the response I was expecting , due to past experience on this issue , that fact that your suggesting I go elsewhere speaks volumes for Customer Support and their willingness to actually address a ongoing issue , which is why I have been "unhappy with it" as you put it .. because it's basically the same issues since I have had it , and nothing has been FIXED or even addressed or looked into by the sounds of it , and that is the reason I am "unhappy" .. , I guess I will look elsewhere ... Thanks for the suggestion .... Jim
EDIT: As of just now I just got 20 more emails dating back to the 19th , they are mixed in with newer and older emails randomly (I had to scroll down to see them because they are now several days old) , so yeah , there is no issue with Thunderbird recieving emails promptly .... Want to buy some swampland in Florida ??? Oh yeah , and there was no sound when any emails arrived , even though they are AFTER the older ones I already got this morning , and came hours later but have the same dates on them .... so yeah , I am UNHAPPY .... who wouldn't be ... Oh that's right , Thunderbird Support wouldn't be ....

You are intentionally ignoring my response, preferring to condemn all of us and Thunderbird for not fixing your problem, a problem that is not common elsewhere. My suggestion was to look at server as the issue may not be at Thunderbird, which is only an email client. I wish you well. Complaints, even when valid, must be verified and put into a priority queue, not immediately fixed because one person complains.
