Crash on exit

Firefox just updated to 152 this evening on my Windows 11 Pro system. It seems slow compared to prior versions. Also , every time you log out , it crashes and activates crashreporter which files the report. Any clues? Nothing changed on the system except for Firefox.

No issue with the CPU. I have an Intel i3.

Looks like the initial problems have cleared up. After a couple of reboots , all is well.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted (and Unsubmitted, if any) Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Thank you for your help!

More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

If it happens again , will see if I can get the number. After Firefox updated to 152.0 on 6/16 , that evening saw at least 5 crashes with the subsequent reports being sent from crashreporter. However , after a reboot , all has been running smoothly since then.

152 is garbage. It's unfortunate really as I used to have high hopes for Firefox but the updates just continue to get worse. With 152, multiple pages hang forcing a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to escape the poor programming. Another failed update.

It would be helpful to list the crash report IDs as shown earlier — to see if there's a consistent pattern that might have a simple cause (like updating an addon or antivirus software or something similarly trivial to avoid it…)

Also if you’re affected by the faulty Raptor Lake CPU (see bugzilla.mozilla.org/2039575 for details) there is an update shipping already: www.firefox.com/en-US/firefox/152.0.1/releasenotes/ to work around some of it.
