The autofill fails to find and fill in my address, despite it being recorded.

When a site asks for my address, I try to choose one from the drop-down menu of addresses offered, but it firstly prints my address in the address window and then, when I press enter or do anything whatever, it deletes everything in the address window. Worse than that, if I try to ignore the dropdown list offered, and try to type in my own address, it deletes it. This behaviour continues, no matter what I try to do do trick it into either (a) filling in my address, or (b) using the offered addresses in the drop-down menu. I.e. there is nothing I can do to ever get an address to stay in the address window and give me a fully filled out form - the address window always ends up empty. I've tried to alter the settings, telling it to ignore the automatic filling in and remembering of addresses, but I can't turn this address-killer feature off. Yes, it's made filling in forms on line impossible, since it keeps making the address-window empty
