This "built-in VPN" in Firefox feature is experimental and is being introduced to the Firefox user base through a progressive rollout starting in Fx 149.0. It may not yet be available to all users.

Users will have 50 gigabytes of data monthly in the U.S., France, Germany and U.K. to start. Available in Firefox 149 starting March 24.

In the KB article

To use VPN, you need to sign in with a Mozilla account. If you’re eligible, you’ll see a prompt in the Firefox toolbar inviting you to set up the feature.

Thanks James but I've read all that already and still nothing. Who is getting this roled out to them and when, what does the 'VPN setup prompt in the top-right corner of your Firefox toolbar' look like, exactly. Nothing has allowed me to find it and click on it. I am already on 149, and nothing, nothing, nothing. I need a VPN now

Hi Thom

What country are you currently based in? The Firefox VPN may not yet be available in your locale.

Thanks Paul - Maybe that is why. I am in Mexico right now, which is in fact why I need a VPN right away.

If I can't find the VPN setup prompt, then it's not available to me yet. Is that correct? I'm in Iowa, USA.

Must be from the right place to have access to the built in VPN feature. It has been rolled out only for users in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and France. The rest of us can wait or pay.

I live in ulgy over taxed Cailforina in the USA and it doesnt show up in my browser either after install And I made sure I was signed it too !

The built-in VPN is said to be rolled out in 22 additional locations for Firefox 152.0 and Australia is one of a few places I have seen listed.

I am in the United States and cannot see the prompt or icon that Firefox tells me to find. Does anyone at Firefox test these rollouts?

The built-in VPN is being introduced through a progressive rollout, starting with Firefox version 149, for users in the US, UK, Germany, France and Canada. It may not be available to you yet, even if you’re in one of these locations, as this is a staged rollout that takes time to reach everyone.

The built-in VPN in desktop Firefox will be in a progressive rollout in an additional 22 locations for the Firefox 152.0 release and Mexico is one of them.

These kb articles will be updated for Firefox 152.0 at some point soon. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/built-in-vpn https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unable-find-built-vpn-firefox
