Whenever I attempt to authenticate with Google using a passkey, Firefox (142.0.1) on macOS (15.6.1) hangs and freezes the process. In Activity Monitor, when I force kill a webauthn process for Firefox, the browser frees up, and I can proceed as long as I don't use a passkey. This freezing is also described in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/ee/questions/1498660, but they didn't look into running processes. I can also authenticate to Google using Safari, but that's not a solution. I've deleted my passkeys in Google, and now everything works, but that's not a permanent solution. Is it Firefox, Mac, Google, or all three?
