I Am REOPENING the Topic from the following link , because it is NOT Resolved ...

"Opening local HTML files." LINK: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1466164

The Original Article indicated that someone could not open "local .html files" that would be on the phone , such as using firefox , to open a "local .html file" that was located at "phone/folder/filename.html" ;

In the link above , the "Response" from the "moderator" called "Paul" said ...

[QUOTE] Hi It is currently not possible to open saved HTML files in Firefox for Android. There are no plans to allow this in the near future. [UNQUOTE]

That response is blatantly FALSE .

The PREVIOUS version of Firefox , namely "fennec" , CAN open "local .html files" , even at this very moment in time .

When using the PREVIOUS version of "Firefox for Android" , namely "fennec" , a "local .html file" AND a "local .txt file" could EACH be opened by CLICKING the "local file" , and then the "phone" would "DISPLAY A PROMPT" to open the "local file" using the phone's native "HTML VIEWER" , or using "FIREFOX" .

The PREVIOUS version of Firefox , CAN also upload images to "forums" .

This can easily be verified by uploading a discontinued version of "fennec" from the following link , or elsewhere ... https://download.mozilla.org/?product=fennec-latest&os=android&lang=multi ( The Link is found at ... "How can I download a previous version of Firefox for Android?" LINK: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1300966 )

When using the CURRENT version of "Firefox for Android" , namely "fenix" , the "phone" just opens the "local .html file" or "local .txt file" using the phone's native "HTML VIEWER" .

The CURRENT version of "Firefox for Android" , namely "fenix (v110)" , will NOT Upload "local images" to forums , such as when an "upload button" is pressed on a "forum" , something that "fennec" can do ; and yes , the phone's "permissions" was granted to firefox to access the phone's "storage" .

As a side note , the previous "fennec" also Displayed a "button" at the top of a "page" to show a "simplified page view" , for those sites that offered "simplified page views" , something the "fenix" does not offer .

Is it a "BEHIND THE SCENES" Mystery , about why the previous "fennec" could do all those things , while the "new" "fenix" can not ?

P.S. The ONLY reason I changed FROM "fennec (v68)" , literally about TWO WEEKS AGO , to "fenix (v110)" , was because some "sites" were saying "browser outdated" , or some "sites" were displaying "jumbled pages" , presumably because the "sites" were "trying" to do more "fancy javascript" and other "unnecessary bling" .

PROBLEM : "fenix" will not open "local .html files" PROBLEM : "fenix" will not open "local .txt files" PROBLEM : "fenix" will not "upload images" to "forums" . SOLUTION: look at the PREVIOUS "fennec" , and then fix the CURRENT "fenix" .

To those whom it concerns , I Thank you for trying .

Hi

I stand by my previous response. This is currently not available in Firefox for Android and there are no plans to include it.

The "fennec" you refer to is either a very old unsupported version of Firefox for Android or a newer version that is not built or supported by Mozilla.

The current version of Firefox for Android is version 142. I recommend that you check for updates from the Google Play store.
