Version 115.5.2 (64-bit) - Login failure after password change
I have this problem since the update to 115.5.2. Every time I change my email account password on my server, I get authentication errors from Thunderbird, meaning I try to log into my email account with the new password and Thunderbird reports a login failure. Already spent 2 hours in a chat with Hostgator to no avail. I actually had to uninstall Thunderbird and start a brand new installation and configuration (which went just fine). Then I changed the password again and am back at square one: can't log in. Getting pretty frustrated by now as I run out of options. Webmail from within my Hostgator account works just fine with the new password. Did anybody also have this issue and found a workaround or permanent solution?

Problem solved! It WAS Hostgator's mistake after all... They had some wrong pointers in their records. Funny, how the third supporter could fix this within 5 minutes while the other 2 didn't have a solution other than reconfigure Thunderbird. Thanks for your input Matt. It led me to chat with Hostgator for the third time since some things simply didn't add up.

First thing is to look at is what password does Thunderbird stored in it's password manager.
The second is look for a password manager in your antivirus that is messing up.
Matt, Thanks for helping out. However, I got so frustrated that I completely wiped Thunderbird from the hard disk and started with a fresh install. No passwords are stored in Thunderbird and I paused Kaspersky for the installation, so it can't intervene. I attached a screen shot FYI. Can't even configure Thunderbird... Is there anywhere in the Windows registry I might have overlooked?
