"Failure to connect to server ..." when I try to Get Messages.
I am suddenly getting "Failure to connect to server mail.aros.net" when I try to Get Messages in Thunderbird. Turns out no messages have downloaded for the last 2 days. My ISP support person is baffled. My Thunderbird is up to date. What gives?

First thing to check is the presence of a corrupted message:

It could also be a firewall is blocking an updated version of TB, if the error occurs for all accounts.
Didn't work, assuming deleting the first 13 messages after the int erruption should be enough. What next, anybody?
Check that Work Offline isn't enabled under File/Offline.
Not that either.
