I've read along a few posts regarding fullscreen-mode. None of the answers there where helpful to me.

If I go fullscreen on my MacBook, Firefox still shows the tab- and addressbar. "browser.fullscreen.autohide" is TRUE in about:config. Deletion of Firefox and associated data followed by a fresh install won't change that.

I see this behavior since the first install of Firefox on this device, but now I'd like to ask if this is "way it works" or if it's kinda bug.

Fullscreen on my device looks like the image attached to this post.

Thanks for the feedback. Your answer let me think that this is no bug but "way it works". Am I right? I'm not the extension-guy and go for as less as possible. But I like to figure out, if it's a bug or WAI (works as intended).

If you have knowledge, please teach me, or, will Firefox behave the same on your device?

Regards!

You can also look at these prefs on the about:config page.

  • full-screen-api.macos-native-full-screen = false

Whether the toolbar should slide down with the menubar when the user mouses to the top of the screen in fullscreen mode.

  • full-screen-api.macos.shiftToolbar = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
