Thunderbird deletes all emails in the trash that are older than 3 days
Thunderbird deletes all emails in the trash that are older than 3 days, although "No messages" is activated in the account settings "Permanently delete old messages ...". Thunderbird also deletes emails saved in the Drafts folder. Thanks for an answer

Is your account IMAP? Most are.
What is your providers retention policy on drafts and trash?
I have IMAP, the provider retention is unknown
Then I suggest you make it known. I don't even know who it is. But it is a reasonable assumption that their are the reason your mail is going away.
