pop3 timeout
I have Thunderbird on two computers, different email accounts. At the beginning of August I switched virus protection to Norton. Since then everything has been fine on both computers until now. Suddenly the one computer is having a pop3 timeout issue, the other is working fine. I have tried extending the timeout period and switching off the Norton scanning facility but still no joy. The timeout issue started on 27 August at around midday SA time, or 10:00 GMT. I know there was a recent update and maybe this has caused the problem?

Would one have Thunderbird 68 and the other Thunderbird 78 by any chance? With the 68 version working?
Thanks Matt. Both are on 68.12. Also the computer which is giving a problem stopped asking for the master password at start up but only asks for this when sending a mail.
Strangely enough Thunderbird suddenly started working again this morning. I have Ccleaner which automatically cleans the computer on start up and it showed that it was "clearing Thunderbird's cache" and once done everything started working fine.
