Thunderbird Update 78.0.1 Message Content Doesn't Display

I updated Thunderbird to 78.0.1 32bit on Win10 64bit Pro 1909 today and after the update completed Thunderbird restarted but I can no longer see any content in any Emails. This holds true for any local folders or remote location such as the In-Box, Sent, Trash, etc. All of the E Mail accounts have the same problem. If I restart Thunderbird in "Safe" mode everything seems to work properly. New icons have are now showing up on the folders on the left side of the screen where the In Box and Accounts are located.

If it works properly in safe mode, close TB, launch in safe mode, check 'Reset toolbars and controls' and 'Disable all add-ons' (since very few add-ons that work in 68 exist or work in 78), then click 'Make changes and restart'. Does TB still work?

Since it's working as expected in safe mode, you may have incompatible add-on. You will have to do without those add-ons until their respective authors have updated them to work well with v78. If that's not an option, you'll have to revert back to v68 and stick to it. There is no reason to rush. I strongly recommend you read and understand this https://blog.thunderbird.net/2020/07/whats-new-in-thunderbird-78/ and the release notes for v78.

Thanks for your help. The add-on to sync Google Calendar was causing the problem.

You can use the TbSync add-on together with the Caldav provider to sync your Google Calendar with Tbird.

Workarounds for the absence of a Provider add-on for 78 are discussed here:
