Hello, we have run with Thunderbird for awhile now, combining two email accounts and archived folders for a third. A recent update began, then notified an OS restart to complete that. However, several restarts later and the same notification comes up.

Starting a new install of v.78.0.1 produces the same notification.

How to proceed ?

                             Welcoming all suggestions, Colin.

Hello, thank you for contributing these responses, Thunderbird v 78.0 alone raised the reboot notes. However, a run with IObit updater has installed v 78.0.1 smoothly and that version has solved any previous problem with v 78.0 - Colin.

Which notification?

What's the security app on the computer? Some, like Kaspersky, create spurious update notifications.

Thunderbird puts out a notification to reboot ito complete an update, repeatedly. However, several reboots have not finished that update. Any suggestions please ?

And your security app is....? If it's Kaspersky, see this topic. If not, do the same notifications happen in Windows safe mode?
