How can I get Firefox to use www.google.co.uk instead of www.google.com by default when I search from the address bar?

Firefox always defaults to google.com for all searches and there seems to be no way to change this. Please advise if I'm missing something here, as if I cannot change this I'm going to change from using Firefox to Chrome as my default browser - thanks

Hello,

You may have seen a post or received a notification regarding support for Firefox with a link to another site. This is a scam and is not an official site to receive support from Mozilla. Please do not click on the link and do not interact by calling any phone numbers or email addresses listed. You are currently posting on the official Mozilla website and will receive assistance here.

Thanks for your speedy reply @charlotte601 - unfortunately I'm not in the US so cannot call the toll-free number.

Lucky you! (It's not official free support, it's... who knows what they do.)

I think the arrangement between Google and Mozilla is that Firefox sends nearly all Google searches to the .com site and Google redirects appropriately. When that breaks down, you could consider adding a more specific Google search engine. I created one for UK due to high demand, but I'm sure there are other options you could explore as well:
