Some links continuously opens new tabs - Container problems?

So came across this Youtube link which just spam bombs opening up new tabs in the window. Firefox remains responsive, and I managed to close the window before it used up all my memory and started hanging the system. Using latest version of Firefox, with various Addons listed in the appropriate box below

I think this is related to Conainters, possibly the Containers plugins I have listed.

That YouTube link isn't causing a problem on my work computer, same configuration but on a Mac. However when I open a new tab and try and go to Google Maps by typing it in, it starts doing the same thing. Same thing with a Twitter link, even if I open a tab up and switch to the Twitter container it starts doing the same thing.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

So haven't tried that yet, but just typing in https:// www . amazon . com now does it as well, and I have the Amazon Container (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/contain-amazon/) installed and it was doing it. I disabled that Add On, and now it stopped. Unfortunately I can't seem to get Amazon to open in the Amazon Container via Containerize Add On.

I did just notice, when I disabled Containerize, but left Multi-Account Containers active, I could set a new tab to be Amazon, and opened amazon.com via that tab, and it worked fine. I wonder if it's Containerize? As in that Add On automatically trying to do it's thing with the latest updated caused a problem?

Great add-on to automatically open in a specific container. Sadly the versions 3.2.0 and 3.1.0 are broken. Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/containerise/versions/ and install 3.0.1 until kintesh fixes the bug.

Ah, thanks cor-el! Makes sense, hopefully the developer finishes fixing it soon. And makes perfect sense why my behavior now.
