WHY is FIREFOX not functioning corredtly as advertized?
I have Mozilla FireFox set as my Default browser with full time " ' ' ' Private Browsing ' ' ' " established as how I wish to operate, when first download of ' ' ' v66.0..3 ' ' ' if clicking on the plus (+) sign next to the open tab it would come up with the same window for " ' ' ' Private Browsing ' ' ' " the way I want it to function. Now with the latest update, to correct your ' ' ' MISTAKE ' ' ', it now comes up without the dark background telling me I am in a " ' ' 'Private Browsing' ' ' " which is the same as ' ' ' NOT ' ' ' using the function I want. Now on ' ' ' v66.0.4 ' ' ' is not protecting me with full " ' ' ' Private Browsing ' ' ' ". It is opening a " ' ' ' New Window WITHOUT ' ' ' " the feature of " ' ' ' Private Browsing ' ' ' ".

Hi NTLS, automatic private browsing is a kind of "stealth" feature that is not advertised with the purple mask icon or the purple home page.
I don't know how you had it set up before. Were you using one of these History settings:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
In the left column, click Privacy & Security
Then on the right side, scroll down to the History section
Either of these will invoke automatic private browsing:
- Firefox will: Never remember history
- Firefox will: Use custom settings for history +
"Always use private browsing mode"
Are you using one of those?
