why does my trash only show emails for the last two weeks how can i find older ones?
I am searching for an old email in my trash folder. When I open that folder all I see are two weeks of emails. When I search using the sender's name, only 3 come up and there should be many more in that folder.

Do you use an imap mail account ? Is it eg: gmail ? If yes, then it is possible that gmail emptied the trash. Many servers do auto empty the trash periodically, usually every 30 days or so. Trash is not the ideal place to store unwanted deleted emails for any length of time.
Helpful but problem not solved. I don't use gmail
If not gmail then what is the server you use? Is it an imap mail account?
