i've been having problems with firefox lately and re-installed a few days ago. the "do this automatically for files like this from now on" option was grey for ALL .zip and .rar files (not for.7z, which is what i use). i found a simple fix the other day but was still having other problems and refreshed firefox. the "greyed-out" problem came back and i can't find the page i used to correct it. everything i've read today says it is the websites fault but this is obviously not the case. it was a very simple fix, i just can't find it now. any help would appreciated

If you have used the refresh feature in Firefox then you should have the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop with your previous profile data. You can look for the handlers.json file and copy this file to the current profile folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Note that when "do this automatically ..." is grayed then this usually means that the server is sending the file with a generic content type or with a content-disposition header. This choice is only available when the file is send with a valid MIME type.
