Two days ago I tried to access my email accounts. Got to the page where both were listed, but when I clicked on one to start the opening process, nothing happened. I've tried clearing the cookies and other "solutions" suggested on a Mozilla troubleshooting page from 2014, but nothing helps. I click asnd click but nothing at all happens. No error message, but no Gmail either. What can I do???

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

You will need to restart Firefox for this to take effect so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.,) and then perform these steps:

In Firefox 54 and below:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options (Windows) or Preferences (Mac, Linux).
  2. Select the Advanced panel and the General tab.
  3. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
  4. Close Firefox completely and then restart Firefox to see if the problem persists.

In Firefox 55 and above:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options (Windows) or Preferences (Mac, Linux).
  2. Select the General panel.
  3. Under Performance, uncheck Use recommended performance settings. Additional settings will be displayed.

Just to clarify... which one of these are you encountering:

  • You cannot log into any Google services because you do not get the sliding form to enter your password?
  • You can log in but Google doesn't redirect you back to the application you requested?

If you are getting a blank page, please make sure the redirect block is turned off:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste access and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

@jscher2000

You have it! It is your first option. I can't log in to any Google services. (It hadn't occurred to me that it was a problem with Google in general.) I am able to enter my user name but I cannot click to the screen to enter my password. I click, but nothing happens. In fact nothing happens when I click ANYTHING o n this page. I will try clearing the cache and cookies and see what happens.

Thanks!
