I use thunderbird with IMAP mail configuration.

When I create a folder in my internet provider's webmail (webserver) account online, this newly created folder does not show in in Thunderbird. It does show on my android smartphone mail application and also on my ipad mail application, just not in Thunderbird.

The other way around, when i create a new folder in Thunderbird, it show in all my mail applications.

The newly created folders do not show in the "folder subscription list" even not after refreshing.

I find this odd, because this always worked fine, in either direction.

Can you please provide clarity?

File-Subscribe Do you see the folder there? Subscribe to it.

the folder does not show in the list. Strangly in the beginning it did show, and the subscription box was ticked. But when unticking, refreshing and ticking the box again, the folder dissapeared. Same scenario when repeating this action with other folders.

Before my update, this folder always showed. I have many other folders not having this issue, unless I start unticking and re-ticking the subscription boxes.

Where are you creating these subfolders? I have a couple of accounts where user-defined folders can only be created inside (IOW as subfolders of) Inbox.

Perhaps your provider changed something (new server, new server software?) and what used to work now does not.

in TB just by right mouse click "create new folder" under "inbox". This causes no problem: the folder appears correctly in TB and on other devices using diffirent mail applications.

Only when creating a new the folder in for example my providers webmail server or for example ipad mail application, the new folder will appear everywhere BUT not in thunderbird. Also not in the TB subscription list.
