I was recently updated to Firefox Quantum on my Ubuntu 16.04. All my bookmarks are gone, auto fill in address bar doesn't show anything. I've tried everything I found : restarting computer, reinstalling firefox (with removing .mozilla/firefox directory and copying my profile folder back into new one), removing places.sqlite, disabling all add-ons, trying to restore bookmarks from backup (this always ends up with error message "Unable to process the backup file"). Everytime I restart Firefox an error message appears about one of the firefox files being used by another process. I'm stuck. This is a case for my old profile, any new empty profiles work properly. EDIT: I am using Sync, but connecting to sync and restoring the backup results with the same error.

Hi,

If you can't find all of your bookmarks and bookmark folders after updating to the new Firefox Quantum (version 57), try this solution:

  1. Click on the Library 57 library icon icon on your Firefox toolbar.
  2. Click on Bookmarks, then click on Bookmarking Tools.
  3. Click on Add Bookmarks Menu to the Toolbar.
    • A Bookmarks Menu Bookmark Menu icon (star on tray) icon will be added to your toolbar.
  4. Click on the new Bookmarks Menu icon. You should get the same Bookmarks Menu as in earlier Firefox versions.

Let us know if this solves the problem.
