Seburo a moderator said I should use the Refresh feature to fix the ebay and usps issue, not only did that not work but now firefox no longer remembers any of my user names or pass words so now ever time I go to a web site I have to re enter my user name and pass word over and over and over again for the same web sites. I am disabled and run a entire rescue center by my self I do not have time for people to make my job harder. Any one who does not believe me can come over for a day to volunteer and when you leave you will know what real work is.

I need for firefox to remember user names and passwords the same as it did before.

A detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie.

You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you:

  • You can create a cookie "Allow" exception to keep specific cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: Exceptions

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.

  • do not clear the Cookies
  • do not clear the Site Preferences
  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data
  • clearing "Cookies" will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an "Allow" exception you may want to keep
