When I open the browser I get a message beginning with "Well, this is Embarrassing". Below that it reads "Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs", etc. Below this is a box with the heading "Restore" "Windows and Tabs". In the box it says "Window 1". Below that it lists my web site WWOwens.com (my home page).

At the bottom of the box there are two tabs: one is blue and says "Restore"; the other is white and says "Close". If I click on "Close" or "Restore" I get to my web site (which is my home page). If I then bring up one of my bookmarks it opens, but if I try to do anything such as scroll the screen turns cloudy and the cursor turns into the windows blue wheel. There is a box which says "Firefox is not responding". With the option shown of "Close the program" or "Wait for the program to respond."

I would like to know what is causing this. I tried reinstalling Firefox but I still had the problem with the new installation.

Any help which you can provide will be well appreciated!

All five of those crash reports are issues in the Flash plugin, Version: 21.0.0.242.

Since that's an old version, please update Flash. You can download the installer from Adobe:

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ -- be sure to uncheck the Optional Offers in the center column if you're not interested

Sometimes when you update Flash, the installer fails to remove the old version so Firefox keeps using it instead of the newer version. You can use my plugin lister page to check for multiple versions:

If you need to clean out old versions, we can suggest different options for that.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Thanks very much jscher2000! I discovered that I had three versions of Adobe Flash on my computer: two from 2013 and one from earlier this year. I installed the one from your link and uninstalled the others. Now everything seems to be working well.
