Why do I get the "this is embarrassing" page everytime I open Firefox? How do I make it go away?

Posted

Every time I open Firefox I get a box showing Window and then last site I visited with a "this is embarrassing" message and telling me to close tabs. There are no tabs open, so there are no tabs to close, as I just opened it and haven't done anything yet. I tried making sure to hit "home" after I'm done and shutting down from the beginning page, but still happens. Please tell me what I can do to make it open correctly. thank you.

Chosen solution

A possible cause is that you are first closing all Firefox windows and then close the Firefox application.

Some have reported that closing Firefox (Firefox > Quit) while the browser window is still open works for them.

If this still doesn't work properly then you can consider to disable crash recovery, but note that you will lose open tabs in case a real crash occurs.

That worked! Thanks very much! :) I did not need to disable, either.
