Why does Firefox go to previous page when opening certain pages on Youtube?

Im currently using Firefox 40.0.3 but certain pages on Youtube are giving me grief. When I try to open the video's webpage, only the backgroud will load and after a second or two Firefox will automatically return to the previous page I was on.

This cannot be cancelled by pressing the 'stop loading page' button and restarting and clearing the cache doesn't help.

The affected videos will not appear in my playlists even if they were already in there and they cannot be found through searching or channel upload pages. My situation does not affect Chrome and I can use it to search for the videos, get the URLs and paste them into Firefox but the above problems occur still.

Is this just on Youtube? With all player pages?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

An add-on for blocking certain Youtube channels had rules to block all the affected videos, I don't remember blocking videos that I would watch but apparently I need to give myself a good talking to. Thanks for the help.

That was very good work. Well done.
