extensions are not listed in about:addons. They are working, but I can't reach their options. Deleting extensions.* files did not help.

I have windows 10 and I'm running firefox version 44.0.2 if I open add-on manager there are no Extensions under the Extensions menu. Which is not true, I am running a couple of them. I did not define any special profiles, I'm just using firefox as it was installed (plus some extensions). So now firefox is working, pages are loading, my extensions are also working fine - but I just can't reach their settings if there are any. I've tried to delete those extensions.* files that have been accepted as a solution in multiple support feeds, but it did not have any effect on my problem. (exept for that at the first start after deleting those files firefox did not show the last tabs - it did not forget the settings, but the functionality was gone at the first start.)

Many thanks for your kind help in advance!

Your system details, as reported on the forum are showing plugins:

   Google Update
NPRuntime Script Plug-in Library for Java(TM) Deploy
Next Generation Java Plug-in 11.71.2 for Mozilla browsers
   Picasa plugin
   Shockwave Flash 20.0 r0
   VLC media player Web Plugin

But it is not picking up any addons. Are you actually asking about the plugins listed above ?

It would be surprising if you have working Addons that are not showing up in the addons manager. Are you able to see the extensions listed in the Troubleshooting Information page "about:support"

This article explains how to manually uninstall addons

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. Those are the plugins you listed. But I also have extensions, like the Pin It toolbar button for pinterest, or feedly toolbar button. I also have facebook tools and dictionary extensions - all are working fine... except for that they don't show up under the Extensions.

What exactly was installed do you recall the homepages and download sites for the addons ? For instance there is a pinterest addon

But there may be other things, for instance this one may be a bookmarklet, although I did not investigate it http://blog.tailwindapp.com/pinterest-toolbar-firefox/

If what you installed are addons and they are not displaying I suggest you use the manual uninstall method in the Mozillazine article I linked to in the last post then reinstall them again.

You may have to delete more that only the extensions.* files It is possible that there is a problem with files in the profile folder that store the extensions registry.

Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in ""3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the cogwheel button (left of Search bar) to check if there is a compatibility update available.

If this didn't help then delete Add-ons.json and possibly prefs.js in case there is a problem with preferences.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
