Gmail populates my email address in the login screen when private browsing is on, what gives?
This function must be a result of a cookie, but there should be no cookies saved or accessed in private browsing. I've also tried using a different IP address, and I still see my email address. I have no plugins that should be effecting this (any plugin associated with Google, or with my email has an "ask to activate" setting)

No, it`s not due to cookie.
- This works for Firefox - Click on the down arrow key then a dropdown list will appear. Now select the username which you want to remove from the list and click the combination keys "SHIFT+DEL".

Everything still works the same in Private Browsing mode as in normal mode. Only all data is kept in memory and not stored in the profile folder.
Cookies will expire if you close all Private Browsing mode windows, but the Logins/Password Manager can still be used to fill a saved name and password.
You are quitting the Firefox application?
If you close all open windows, but leave the menu bar visible then the PB mode session can still be active on Mac.

That's a good method for clearing out an autofill; but it does not work in this situation. Something is being pulled from somebody's cache, because the page is already returning a 1/2 logged in state (it already has username).
Why would it have this info in a Private Browser window? Isn't the whole purpose of Private Browsing to be devoid of information? If I access gmail in Chrome with an Incognito Window, there is no information provided from me or my browser to the website...

You haven't confirmed if this also happens when you quit Firefox and restart Firefox. During a running session this is expected behavior, but it shouldn't happen after you have quit Firefox and had started a private session.
Hi mehmetic, when you click the New Tab button in the same window, do you get the "You're browsing privately" page with the purple stripe? Example attached (from Windows).
If not, do you have Firefox set for automatic private browsing on the Preferences page? Screen shot attached for reference (from Windows).
