How delete part of an article when I am in "print preview"

I click on an article in my "documents" and get it on the screen. Then I go to print preview and want to delete part of the article because I do not want it to print. Nothing happens and the program won't let me do anything using the delete key. I am on windows 7. Please help. Thanks
