Cannot delete Bookmark or entire Folder of Bookmarks in left side pane

Using Menu-Bookmarks: Edit This Bookmark: I get Remove button and a Done button. Tried both, they do not delete it. I am using v. 41.0.2.

Using Toolbar Star: Remove Bookmark button and Done button, both do not delete it.

Can you not right-click the item and use Delete from the context menu? That is the usual way to do that.
