Several weeks ago Firefox displayed a receipt for a transaction at Costco and then became totally unresponsive. It still goes there when opened.

When completing a transaction at Costco Photo, my receipt displayed and Firefox became totally unresponsive. It was waiting for something and the "busy" indicator was on. It could only be interupted by using the Tak Manager to end the process. From then on, every time Firefox was opened, it went directly to that same page and became unresponsive. I have uninstalled Firefox and used another browser for several weeks, but when I re-installed Firefox and opened it, the same receipt screen appeared, the "busy" circle displayed and Firefox could only be stopped by Task Manager. I have cleared some of the cache and browsing history, but to no avail. Any ideas???????

Do you have any shortcut links on you desktop? Use one of them. Or, If you have a Firefox icon on your task bar, right click and select Open New Window.

This add-on can stop such pages; disallow Script Button {web link} The Disallow Script button looks like a letter "M" and the title is the Minus Script, drag and drop the button on a toolbar. If the button is not displayed then nothing operates, except rules for plugins.

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar. In the new window, look for the Disallow Script button icon. When you find it, hold down the left button on it, and move it to where you want it to be. I suggest just to the right of the address bar.

If your browser gets locked up, just press the icon, and close that tab.
