Until recently, I was able to right-click any bookmark, select 'copy', and then paste the URL for that bookmark anywhere. Now, what happens is the bookmark's title will be pasted if I try to paste into a web page (any text field), but the URL will be pasted if using the Firefox address or search bar or any external application. The pasting of the bookmark title instead of URL is specific to Firefox. Getting around this is very annoying and time-consuming.

That should still be working.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

After further investigation, I've discovered this problem is not specific to Firefox itself, but to Facebook alone. Only while pasting into a Facebook text field will this problem occur.

Yes, the problem persists in Safe Mode.

Upon further investigation, this problem only occurs in Facebook COMMENT boxes, and not in the Facebook search box or the status update boxes on News Feed or Timeline, or in private messages using the full 'Messages' page or the messenger tool.

Also submitting report to Facebook.
