There is no "customer support" - this forum is for Firefox support.

No "bull", just the facts.

Separate Issue; Your System Details shows;

Installed Plug-ins

Shockwave Flash 15.0 r0 Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.

Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac Then reinstall the latest version.

Separate Issue; Update your Flash Player v15.0.0. 239 http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Shockwave Director v12.1.4.154 http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/

Flash is actually at versions 16.0.0.235, 13.0.0.259 ESR and 15.0.0.246 on Windows and Mac and are not vulnerable and not on blocklist.

Get your choice of 16.0.0.235 Or 13.0.0.259 ESR (do not use both) at https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

And unless you really use the Shockwave (director) player for the rare thing that uses it like some games, you should uninstall it versus keeping it up to date to be secure. The current version of Shockwave (director) player is actually 12.1.5.155

Regarding your new tab page being hijacked, can you describe what appears there in more detail? In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run

After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).

Any difference?
