lost ability to send a group email as does not recognise not having @

In Thunderbird I have been getting along fine for years when sending an email and entering a group name (containing my list of recipients) but suddenly when entering a group name into my send to box I get a refusal to send as is not in the format of an email (containing @) how do I get this working again. Tried a reinstal but no change.

Hello,

I am sorry to hear about this. Several other people have reported this issue, I replied with a workaround suggested by one of them in this thread.

Please follow up there, it would help if you have any other details (OS version, exact TB version) and if you could confirm the workaround is valid. Thank you for contacting Mozilla Support and again, apologies for this!

I have new information about this.

It looks like it's this bug. If you have an account on Bugzilla, it would help to vote for that issue.

It seems lists with a description that includes several words have this problem. The bug report suggests replacing the blanks " " between the words in such lists' descriptions with an underscore "_". If you don't want to change your descriptions, the other workaround provided still works.
