Why do you keep changing firefox to both LOOK like and ACT like other browers? Why by default, are you 'hiding' functions and tools?

Please just stop doing this, firefox was (No longer) the most popular browser BECAUSE it was barebones, easily customizable to OUR DESIRES, but no longer. Yes 'some' options still remain, but slowly, since firefox 21, you have been removing more and more things to make it how 'you' want it. SO often we find users have to go third party to do what they HAD before.

Security, fine, but stop trying to 'improve' the interface, because it was perfect back then, and THAT is still the case now (NOT the new firefox 29, its just looks like absolute trash, and even worse how your trying so hard to look like a dumbed down version of chrome... which is sad considering how chrome is a dumbed down version of what firefox 28 was.

Please, stop claiming your doing these changes based on 'input' from people (Which i suspect don't exist, its just a few yuppie developers who make these decisions based on stuff they see when they use chrome i suspect, possibly while they on facebook and twitter)

Sorry but yes, each 'improved' build of firefox since 21 has been a STEP BACK. And even worse is how its 'forced' on us.

IF it helps, consider this 'user input' since I've used firefox since mozzilla first started calling it such. PLEASE don't make me change browsers.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to you. If you feel strongly about the new changes I would suggest you to provide feedback on https://input.mozilla.org/feedback for the people who decided on the changes to actually see it.

Please keep in mind that Firefox is a work in progress and your feedback is very valuable for us to understand what can be done better!

I've tried feedback.. Ive left comments and messages there for the past 6 builds, and I see MANY MANY MANY 'similar' comments from others who feel VERY much the same as i have. Yet, they KEEP MAKING THESE BLOODY changes that are NOT NEEDED. Only to 'make it pretty' - 'make it more like (Insert browser name here)' or 'to simplify interface (Which btw is code for 'hide stuff so that you can't muck it up)'

Hell, the newest build(At least before i finally managed to uninstall and reinstall build 28) the 'customize' tab/window/option was COMPLETELY CLEAR, ie: NO OPTIONS, no button config, no bars to move/drag, hell, even the address and search bars were gone.

Its extremely frustrating to watch a perfectly fine, low resource, effective and powerful, tool get turned into a wobbly weird 'freak' - I mean the current build is just garbage. How it looks, etc.(I said this all already)

I have a feeling that the only 'feedback' that is considered, is the 'feedback' that perfectly aligns with whoever is making these bloody useless changes. - And said 'developer' is spending much too much energy and resources trying to 'emulate' other things.

Change simply for the sake of change is NOT GOOD. Security updates, and fixes, resource use reduction, increasing the speed, improving interface is all good, but stop taking away our tools(Customizability, which is what firefox is all about) or forcing us to go get 'third party' things to 'revert' the changes you do.

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.

  • Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I also agree with the OP. STOP F'ING with the interface!!!! Or at least give us an option to keep the interface like the old one it is replacing that we spent our time customizing to the way each of us likes for ourselves.

Like he said Firefox's appeal has ALWAYS been it's customizability. But you guys keep making it look more and more like your competitors browsers. What you idiots don't realize is the reason that the other browsers have such numbers is that their users are not technically minded power users like we are. Their are a lot more of those morons out there that don't know or want to know much about computers and much less how to customize them. That is why Firefox has appealed to us. Because it can be customized to the way we want. The power user, technically minded, customizing hacker community.

If Mozilla wants those idiot browser kind of numbers then make a separate idiot browser for them. DON'T F AROUND WITH FIREFOX and ALIENATE US!!!!
