We are using Mozilla Thunderbird on a Windows-based computer to manage our corporate email hosted on the Yandex domain. We are facing an issue: emails sent to addresses ending with @gmail.com do not reach the recipients. However, we can successfully receive emails from @gmail.com addresses.

Could you please advise how we can resolve this issue and what settings in Thunderbird should be checked to ensure correct email delivery?

For a couple of years on and off I have been trying to assist a dear friend of mine with his windstream.net account using the Thunderbird email client.

The problem is that while we set up everything quite easily, the account is added, all of his folders are populated and everything is perfect initially within a few hours to a few days....suddenly he begins to receive the following error message: login to server imap.windstream.net with username failed.

At first it will work for a while hitting "Retry". Then after a while it stops sending and receiving email. Eventually I am forced to remove the accounts and begin the cycle again. I can't for the life of me work it out.

So far: I have updated the program. Set up the account from scratch numerous times Updated and changed the windstream email password. Scrubbed the program and all related folders numerous times. Checked for any obvious interference from security apps (currently only windows defender running) Checked for any internet connectivity problems (there were none) Changed around the IMAP settings to use any other combination of settings that would work (there were none) Read all the Mozilla Thunderbird posts on this forum related to Windstream numerous times. Scoured the internet for any other help. So now I'm actually posting about it.

Once again, initially the settings below work just fine, there is nothing but green lights and check marks and everything seems to be fine.....until its not and the cycle repeats over and over. I would welcome any assistance from anyone with experience using windsteam email on mozilla thunderbird or a moderator or administrator if any review these forums. My friend has used the Thunderbird client for many years and does not wish to switch. I will include a few screenshots of the error message. Thank you in advance for any and all assistance!

   Incoming Server (IMAP): imap.windstream.net
   IMAP Port (SSL/TLS): 993
   IMAP Port (non-secure): 143
   Authentication: Required for both incoming and outgoing servers.
   Username: Your full Windstream email address (e.g., your-email@windstream.net).
   Password: Your Windstream email account password. 

Outgoing Server (SMTP):

   SMTP Server: smtp.windstream.net
   SMTP Port (SSL/TLS): 465
   SMTP Port (non-secure): 587

There was a forced upgrade to "Eclipse" a couple of months ago, and TB stopped showing a notification for new/unread emails on the taskbar icon. This was on Win10.

I hoped that a clean install of Win11 would maybe fix the issue, but nothing changed.

The weird thing is that TB is not listed under System>Notifications in Win11 settings (see image). I guess the issue lies within TB, not Win11.

Is this a new bug, or have i missed some setting? I'm on v142 currently.

Spectrum, computer died, nobody competent here to get past "Registry Error," I guess, but I need all the data, contacts, calendar, etc., in the T'bird I've relied on for MANY years. PLEASE help. I tried to get a screen grab: It didn't work.

I am using a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) 2.3 GHz Intel Core i9 8-core processor 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 memory

When I launch Thunderbird, the fans start up. As soon as I stop Thunderbird, the fans stop. When I close Thunderbird, I receive an error message (see attached).

Could you help me?

If I get a popup stating:

   "Misspelled word: ..."  (Yes, there is a "misspelled" word)

Clicking either "Ignore" then "Send", or "Send" results in:

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: MAIL FROM:<MarkJL0@OptOnline.net> does not match authenticated user name. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

This question is about TB for Android v10.1. I forward potential spam to report@phishing.gov.uk but often the message remains in the Outbox. I get a notification "Failed to send some messages. Reject for policy reason." The message is unchanged by me, but clearly it contains the address of a potential spam-sender. What should I do to comply with this well-known advice?

I am trying to add an invitee to an email done from the calendar. When I attempt to add an invitee, everything appears in the user interface to be OK. When I send the email, nothing is received by the invitee. I have even sent email to myself as an invitee and that fails as well. I found the attached error in a troubleshooting log.

I have scoured the internet looking for a solution but couldn't find one. Hopefully you can tell me how to proceed so that I can get this feature to work. I haven't even had Thunderbird for a year and now this. I have donated $100 to you so hopefully you won't see me as a freeloader who wants to complain.

Downloaded all files from old iMac on external hard drive. Plugged hard drive to new MacMini . After I downloaded all the apps, I saw Thunderbird app down in the dock. I clicked to lunch the app and got a window that said Thunderbird was damaged and to move it to the trash. I am running Thunderbird on another device, but this new computer will be primary, I would rater stay with Thunderbird and not use Mail. Csn you help me or tell me in steps what to do. Hi team. The sent items of one of my clients email accounts seems to be invisible. It does show that there are sent times at the top of the window. When I send a new mail, that number increases by one.

Things I've already tried; Checked all account settings. Double checked things like "Place a copy in", "default Sent folder", " Subscribe" Checked all layout setting Checked all filter settings. Uninstalled and reinstalled software.

Any idea what could be the issue?
