Hi

I'd appreciate some help.

I have already set up two Mailcow email accounts in the same profile in Thunderbird. I want to set up a third but I've lost the "add an existing email" page. How do I find it again? I've checked the file menu or the three dash menu on the top right of the page and the option is missing.

How can I find it again?

Hello. I have a strange problem. I have the latest Beta version with an IMAP account running fine. I need to add a second POP account. When I go through the motions of New Account > Email, the 'Account Hub' box appears were I can enter the name of the account and the email address. When I click Continue, I get two green ticks and it says Looking Up Configuration then it changes to a spinning blue circle. This stays like this indefinitely. I click the escape key to close the window.

Then if I go back to the New Account > Email procedure, it takes me back to the same box with the spinning blue circle and I can't start the process again. I have to restart Thunderbird to try again, but it still won't work. I have tried starting in Troubleshooting mode and disabling add ons but like the blue circle I am going in circles.

I have two computers and on the other one I have the original Release version. This adds the second POP account with no problem.

I am on Windows 11. Can anyone suggest something to try?

I have several email accounts and they all work as expected, however I have two with similar but different domain names that automatically link for some reason.

Both are associated with my website and I am using the email service from my host. One goes to foo.com, the other to foo.net

I have recently moved my website to another host and had to setup my emails again. This should be a simple task of changing the servers in Thunderbird, right?

So I did that, but the SMTP server and email address keeps switching to the other account.

I set up foo.com with my email address and password, then I go to foo.net and it has the .com info already there. If I change that to the .net info and go check the .com account, it has been changed to the .net info.

I tried reverting the .net account back to the old server, but it copied that info right back to the .com account!

There is a dropdown box on the main Account Settings page where you can choose any account for your SMTP, but it only displays one of these, whichever one is currently filled out.

How do I un-link these accounts? They were not previously linked in any way - they each sent emails from their own .com and .net accounts.

Kinda been a comedy of errors. Wanted to set up a mailing list in TB. Started in CardBook. Too uncooperative. Was advised to use "regular" TB. PAB did not have the entries I needed, so was advised to copy entries from Google Contracts address book. Didn't know I had to hold down CTRL key and I ended up MOVING them, which emptied all my Google Contact from the Google Contacts address book. Tried to sync to get them back. Didn't. That address book is linked to https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v1/principals/dalemwebb****@gmail.com/lists/default/. Can't seem to get them back. What am I doing wrong/what do I need to do.

My thunderbird account stopped receiving emails yesterday and is giving the message:

"Thunderbird The certificate for pop3.exemail.com.au is not valid for that server. Someone could be trying to impersonate the server and you should not continue."

Mails are still going to the Webmail account and my husband has an exemail account with the same settings that is working correctly.

Exetel is in the process of selling its email service to a third party but this isn't final until September 8, will moving to the new provider fix this issue or is there something else I should be doing?

I've read everything apropos here, tried everything, and I'm lost--and totally screwed--if I can't get into my old Thunderbird. Spectrum, computer died, nobody competent here to get past "Registry Error," I guess, but I need all the data, contacts, calendar, etc., in the T'bird I've relied on for MANY years. PLEASE help. I tried to get a screen grab: It didn't work.

This is the second time I've appealed for help.

Thunderbird Address Book - Only Syncing with Server in One-Direction (Syncs To Server)

Hello, After recently I installed ThunderBird after installing a clean installation of Windows 10.

I have managed to successfully connect ThunderBird to my Email Server, and its associated CalDav and CardDav server.

However when I try to sync the ThunderBird Address Book with the server, it only uploads information (new address book entries, edits, deletions). Changes made on the server do not get reflected in ThunderBird.

This includes the situation where the address booked entry is originally made in ThunderBird, uploaded to the Server, and then edited on the server (e.g. added extra character to the name field).

I can sync emails and calenders between ThunderBird and the Server without problem.

I have tried deleting the abook.sqlite files in my ThunderBird Profile, but this has not had any impact.

For avoidance of doubt, I am using the "Syncronise" menu option in ThunderBird rather waiting for the default automated 'every 30 minutes' setting.

Question: Can anyone advise how to resolve this one-way synconisation. I would like ThunderBird Address Book to update/reflect changes made on the server

LOGIN FAILED ERROR MESSAGE DRIVING ME CRAZY! At LEAST 100 times I get the same gray pop-up error message which I've attached. I will type it here as well

Login to server pop.earthlink.net with username professor[hidden for privacy]@earthlink.net failed.

Retry - Enter New Password - Cancel are the choices presented.

Obviously my primary email server is Earthlink Webmail, which in turn I redirect to use Thunderbird as my mail reading and filing system for my messages. Webmail is simply too cumbersome for daily use. No matter.

I have two email accounts with Webmail, both redirected to TB. I use a particular password for the Webmail server, which in turn I needed to set up a flow-thru account to TB. No problems there for the past 10 years or so.

Suddenly beginning last week, these infernal gray box error messages began appearing throughout the day. Now they popup every 2 or 3 minutes!

I have double and triple checked my Webmail passwords to insure they are correct. I have also attempted on NUMEROUS occasions to use the optional tab ENTER NEW PASSWORD, into which I have typed the password again. I check the box that asks "Use Password Manager to remember this password." in hopes that TB will somehow remember the correct PW. No Luck whatsoever.

To prove my point, during the time it has taken me to type this message, the popup has appeared no less than 6 times thus far, and I am not even finished with my question.

Actually - opps, there it is again - I am finished with the question. What I am desperately seeking is how to disable this damned error message once and for all, or to input whatever information it needs to simply disappear.

Thanks to you all for putting up with my frustration. I only hope it doesn't happen to you, 'cause it will drive you NUTS!

Thanks again,

Lenny

I have multiple gmail accounts set up on Thunderbird. They were all working fine until I traveled overseas and came back. Then, all of a sudden, 1 gmail account stopped working. The rest kept working fine. I checked the settings and they were correct. I removed the account and tried to set it up again (about 10 times), but kept getting the same error message: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." The automatic configuration passed and I even tried manually configuring to the recommended settings to no avail.

The only thing I can think of is that when traveling overseas and trying to get online, Thunderbird and/or Gmail asks for further security verification, and I just avoided using Thunderbird altogether while abroad. Upon my return, I started getting this error message. It is extremely inconvenient to have to use the Gmail interface for only 1 email (my main email!). Does anybody know anything I can do to repair this? I'm almost tempted to use another email client altogether to make my life more efficient as the new setup is not sustainable.

Hi - I have a batch of a few hundred emails that include names and emails from a form that people filled out. I didn't know how to create a form that collected this information directly into an email list at the time (now I do, thankfully), so now I need to download specific data - name, email - from the body all of those emails into a csv file.

I used Google Takeout to download the specific emails and then imported them into Thunderbird. I used ImportExportTools NG to export the data into a csv file, but the data I need was not included. Is there a way to export data from the body of an email into a csv file?
