For about the last year when I try to open Mozilla Thunderbird calendar, instead of taking me to the active calendar page, I get a “Not Responding” message and an hourglass for about 1 minute. That eventually disappears. I then have to select “Calendar” and wait another minute or so with another “Not Responding” message before I can finally get to the active calendar page and do what I wish to do on the calendar. When I remove the app and reinstall it, the problem disappears once ONLY and reappears after that. Can you suggest a solution to the problem, please. I have a Dell Inspiron 3793 laptop.

Thank you.

My email from a third party domain is routed to both my gmail inbox and to my thunderbird client. The emails typically get received by thunderbird first, and I read them quickly because of the notification that comes up. However, these emails on thunderbird disappear as soon as they show up in my gmail inbox. Does anyone know how to prevent this? I haven't found any other similar issues on the support forums or other sources.

I've read everything apropos here, tried everything, and I'm lost--and totally screwed--if I can't get into my old Thunderbird. Spectrum, computer died, nobody competent here to get past "Registry Error," I guess, but I need all the data, contacts, calendar, etc., in the T'bird I've relied on for MANY years. PLEASE help. I tried to get a screen grab: It didn't work.

This is the second time I've appealed for help.

Why can't I install T'Bird on my new HP computer? I keep getting the page that says "Finish installing ,and start enjoying Thunderbird." But there is nothing to click on to finish!

I've been a T'Bird client for more than 20 years, and I have never seen such difficulty adding your email client to my computer.

I am trying to copy a large number of emails (about 1,000) from one folder (which in on gmail) to a local folder. However, TB seems to be not up to the task. I can move one email at a time but that, of course, is not practical for my purposes. However, even if I break it down into 30 or 40 emails at a time, it copies some of them and not others. Anyone know what the problem is? I will admit that some of the emails are quite large (5-10 MB). Could this be the issue? Are there limits on the size of a folder? How do I know what those limits are?

Working with TB 128.11.0esr (64-bit) on a Macbook running Sequoia 15.4.1.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Hi. I have over 20,000 messages in my Inbox. I've been sometimes having trouble moving messages into folders, so I thought it would be a good idea to reduce the number of messages in my Inbox. But I can't delete or move messages in the Inbox. When I select messages and enter command to move them to a folder, or ask to delete them, nothing happens.

I am a Thunderbird supporter, and I love this program. Thanks for your work! Any advice appreciated. Connie

When opening Thunderbird it would automatically show checking for emails by contacting, not sure, I think host, and say there are no messages. Now when I open Thunderbird nothing happens and I haven't received an email since 20th August. When I press "Get messages" nothing happens.

Also, I am in the process of changing my existing email to Gmail, but that shouldn't have caused this problem.

Hope you can assist with this as it is very frustrating.

Thank you!

There is ONE SPECIFIC email message in my inbox that I cannot move, copy or delete. Whether I drag-and-drop or use drop down menu - same result. This is the ONLY message in all my email accounts/inboxes which has this problem.

Continuing the attempt to move or copy causes the drop down menu to ask me if I want to move/copy the message AGAIN - but it still does not move or get copied. Hitting "Delete" on my keyboard or clicking the "garbage can" icon in the drop down menu has no effect - the email remains in my inbox.

I am using Tbird 140.1.0esr (64-bit)

I have 4 yahoo accounts. Whenever emails come in to my main yahoo account inbox they also appear in one of the other yahoo inboxes. The remaining 2 yahoo accounts are not affected in this (or any other) way.

Note that I just reconfigured Tbird in (what I believe is) a non-standard way. Before I implemented this fix, every time I opened it, Tbird crashed within 15 seconds. Figuring that my profile was probably corrupt beyond repair I switched to an earlier profile which seemed to be stable and then updated that profile by copying and pasting (replacing) all the contents of the "ImapMail" and "Mail" folders from the more recent corrupt profile into the older stable profile. Not sure whether that has caused this duplication error.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

1. I am new to to using Thunderbird and have been using it for about 2 months. As of today I am using Ver. 142.

My replies to emails generates two copies in the "Sent" folder and in some cases, duplicate copies to the recipient. This duplication is inconvenient and embarrassing especially when replies are also duplicated to the recipient. The previous replies I have found to what appears to be a not uncommon question are some years old or apply to previous versions of Thunderbird where the software version, settings and options may have been different.

How can this duplication be prevented in 2025 and the latest version of the software?

2. Having not found any recent answers to the above question, I signed up to Mozilla/Thunderbird support. The registration process first declined the "Confirmation Code" and the window closed. (The code was copied and pasted therefore no error). In an effort to clarify whether the registration had been successful I attempted to log in via a new window - the email address and password were accepted.

However, the username (?) apparently a derivative of the email address used, appears in the top right corner of the Mozilla Support window: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/thunderbird/form) contained an unexpected additional digit.

Is the additional character necessary for some reason or is that another bug in the interface?

Thank you P W

My thunderbird account stopped receiving emails yesterday and is giving the message:

"Thunderbird The certificate for pop3.exemail.com.au is not valid for that server. Someone could be trying to impersonate the server and you should not continue."

Mails are still going to the Webmail account and my husband has an exemail account with the same settings that is working correctly.

Exetel is in the process of selling its email service to a third party but this isn't final until September 8, will moving to the new provider fix this issue or is there something else I should be doing?
