Hello, I have a reproducible issue on Firefox Beta for Android on my POCO X6 Pro 5G running HyperOS / Android 15.

When tapping mailto: or tel: links in Firefox, nothing happens. No app opens and no chooser dialog is shown.

The same links work correctly in Google Chrome, so the Phone/Dialer and Email apps are properly registered with the system.

This appears to be related to Bug 1988946, but it also affects Android 15 on HyperOS.

---

Steps to reproduce

1. Open Firefox Beta on a POCO/Xiaomi device running HyperOS.

2. Visit any webpage containing a tel: or mailto: link.

3. Tap the link.

---

Actual Result

No action is triggered.

No Intent Resolver popup appears.

No dialer or email app is launched.

---

Expected Result

tel: links should open the default Phone app.

mailto: links should open the user’s email app.

If multiple apps are available, Android should show a chooser dialog.

---

Device Information

Device: POCO X6 Pro 5G

OS: HyperOS, Android 15

Firefox version: Firefox Beta 146.0b4

Build: #2016126791

GV: 146.0-20251117130030

AS: 146.0.1

Build date: 2025-11-17T13:00:30

---

What I have already tried

Enabled “Open links in apps” in Firefox

Reset Firefox default preferences

Reset Phone (Dialer) defaults

Granted all special permissions (background activity, pop-ups, etc.)

Tested Firefox Stable and Beta

Cleared app cache/data

Rebooted device

Verified that Chrome opens tel: and mailto: links correctly on the same device

---

Additional notes

In HyperOS settings (“Opening links”), Firefox does not receive supported link types.

The Phone app does not appear in “Opening links”, but it works fine with Chrome.

This suggests a compatibility issue between Firefox’s intent handling and Xiaomi/POCO HyperOS on Android 15.

---

Conclusion

This issue is reproducible 100% of the time and affects basic link handling functionality. I am available to provide logs or run additional tests if needed.

Thank you!

Have be3n hav8ng this problem for at least a week, on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8 with Android 14 (One UI). About 20cto 30 seconds after launch, the browser abruptly closes back to the home screen. Have tried resetting the tablet, clearing some old apps out, etc., but thr problem persists.

I have dumped the latest Mozilla Crash Report from my browser. Apparently, there is an issue with memory:

No doubt this has been asked before but I haven't found an answer, apologies! Just got a new phone. I have well over 100 tabs open on Firefox on my old phone and want to move them over to the new one if that's possible. The phones are synced but alas that doesn't do it. Is there a way to transfer all those tabs over to the new phone without copying every single Web address the hard way?

Hello,

I am currently on the latest version of Firefox Beta for Android, version 146.0b4.

For some time now (6+ months), this installation of beta fails to sync my bookmarks from or to Mozilla's servers. I've verified that desktop Firefox and Firefox stable on Android will still sync.

It took me some time to notice this was the case, and at first I hoped it would resolve itself, but it hasn't. I have many newer bookmarks on this installation of the browser, and if I reinstalled in an attempt to fix this issue, I would lose these bookmarks.

How can I keep my newer bookmarks on mobile, while also fixing the sync functionality? There doesn't seem to be a way to backup bookmarks on Android other than sync, which isn't working.

Other sync data aside from bookmarks is still syncing fine. I tried signing out of Firefox on all devices, then signing back in, but that didn't resolve the issue.

Recently Firefox information text has appeared mauve. It appears on Bookmarks - Add, on the address field as highlighting, and the panel which pops up when I click on a link has a pale mauve background.

I haven't changed anything in settings. I have recently added my own screensaver, which has colours which might be related to this. I have tried changing settings to get rid of it and tried removing the screensaver with a long-press on the background, then "Wallpaper and Style" which shows screensavers etc, but there is no option to remove it. Those things are related to Android rather than Firefox, but no other applications have this problem.

I'm on Android 12, Firefox 145.0

Hi!

I have some problems with Firefox on Android.

I often visit the Swedish public service news site "www.svt.se/nyheter".

Sometimes some videos won't play, but if I open the same page in Chrome, playback starts as it should. One example is the video in this article:

https://www.svt.se/nyheter/lokalt/smaland/over-400-kvadratmeter-parkslide-ska-bort-vaxjo-testar-ny-metod

A general problem is that I almost always have to reload the tab, to be able to watch the video, when I open an article in a new tab. The first time I press play, the video freezes. The sound plays but the image becomes static and pixelated, often in shades of green. One example is this article:

https://www.svt.se/nyheter/lokalt/stockholm/uppgifter-sjukdomsfall-bakom-bussolyckan-i-stockholm

I have a Google Pixel 5 with Android 14 and Firefox version 145.0 (but the problem has existed in previous versions).

Thanks in advance!

I have a few web pages on my local network that are behind basic HTTP authentication. If I try to navigate to any of these sites in Firefox for Android, I get the popup to enter my credentials, but after entering my credentials, the page just never loads. The loading indicator just stays in place.

I do get a 401 unauthorized if I don't enter correct credentials, but with the correct credentials entered the page juat never loads.

I've tried clearing site data, disabling extensions, and disabling protection features like tracking protection and dns protection, but none of that resolves the issue.

I also tried Firefox Foxus to see if my particular installation is borked somehow, but Firefox Focus has the same issue.

A different mobile browser though, such as Brave, loads the page just fine after my credentials are entered. Works just fine in Firefox desktop as well.

Is basic HTTP authentication just broken in Firefox for Android? Are there any other workarounds I can try?

(My phone is a Galaxy S24)
