open downloaded pdf from "download tab" in new tab always. Opening in the same last tab, destroys the opened tab which often not support back option e. g. Banking websites.

Pls give option of new tab opening of downloaded files.

Although I have checked "Always Ask" to specify my download location, duplicates are still being saved in "Downloads". I recently "upgraded" to Windows 11 but do not know if it is connected. FF version 138.0.3 (64-bit). How can I prevent this please?

When trying to send a message I get this respons: The message could not be sent. An error occurred while sending the email. The server responded: Must issue a STARTTLS command first" I have tried a lot of solutions but I can not get it solved

PLEASE put the format options back into the email task bar! My formatting needs to be done on a message by message basis. It is time consuming and counterproductive to have to go to settings each time. No matter what I tried in settings, I was not able to get Formatting back into the message task bar. At minimum, I need font, size, list and color options back in the message task bar. PLEASE HELP!

Hi, I’ve noticed that Firefox often uses a lot of memory when I have multiple tabs open, even more than Chrome or Edge on the same number of tabs. Sometimes it slows down my system or makes switching between tabs laggy.

Is this normal behavior, or is there a way to reduce Firefox’s RAM usage without losing performance? Are there specific settings, add-ons, or troubleshooting steps I should try?

Yesterday I noticed that when composing an e mail to reply to an incoming e mail the send button had vanished along with the attach button and I think the composition bar has also gone. I have tried various methods to get it back but am completely stuck. Composition does not feature when going to view, then toolbars. send and attached do not feature in the boxes in customise toolbar to drag to the toolbar if it even existed. Pressing Alt or F10 does nothing. Restore default does nothing. I can still send e mails using Ctrl and enter. I am not over technical but I have tried everything that I have been advised to do but nothing works. Can you please help.

when trying to view pdf attachment while composing a thunderbird message a mysterious error message appears: "could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences". I found the solution in a reddit forum namely in configeditor of thunderbird change "pdfjs.disabled" to "true". Fine, but why does thunderbird support not give a solution?. And why is the error message so uninformative? it does not say which helper application it is looking for, and what is meant by "association in your preferences" and how to change that. My thanks again to sfhowes, Rick and others for assisting me to get back my ability to once again send e-mails from Thunderbird. Now for the next step.

Just days ago, I migrated my years of Thunderbird e-mails on a POP protocol to IMAP. Before doing so and before also uninstalling my old Thunderbird because of e-mail sending problems and then reinstalling a new version, I saved a profile. Now with the most current version of Thunderbird, I lost (i)a decades worth of saved inbox e-mails (but for the last 2 years), (ii)I lost all of my sent e-mails but a few odd ones, (iii)I lost my archived e-mails in Local Folders and (iv) I lost all of my contacts and saved group e-mail address lists.

My profile is saved on an external hard drive. Obviously the new installed version of Thunderbird must have somehow found the last 2 years of my inbox e-mails but nothing beyond that as mentioned above. Can you share please a recommended procedure where I can better import what I assume I saved correct on the profile I saved twice (I saved a master folder named Profile and separately saved 4 folders - 2 folders ending in default and 2 ending in default-release. Running Linux-Mint on my laptop. Trying to run an epson ET-2400 ink jet Printer. Need Driver for printer. I have seen some information about software that needs to be added to "talk" to the printer but I cannot find it now. Please someone help.

Need help setting up my domain name with godaddy and Thunderbird email client. need to get DNS Records from godaddy also. Having more trouble with this than I should, I think. I have already setup an email account on Thunderbird with earthlink/mindspring and icloud. No problems at all, in fact, both were very simple. But no so much with the domain name and godaddy. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Like many, I have Windows 10 and cannot upgrade to Windows 11 without purchasing a new computer. I don't want the upgrade as my desktop computing needs are simple -- checking email and occasional online research. I am looking at 0patch as a solution to Microsoft discontinuing support for Windows 10 and want to know if Firefox will operate compatibly with 0patch providing security patches instead of Microsoft.

I'm not a technical person, so please keep replies simple. At 80 it's tough to keep up with all the changes! Thanks.

I've recent moved to Linux and Thunderbird from Win/Outlook. I have a singifcant message base that I've successfully migrated to Thunderbird, most in bound email but witha chunck of outbound too. This all appears in Local Folders, with the outbpund stuff in Sent Item sub-folders.

Card View suits my well, however when I look at the Sent Items local folders, I always see the from address (i.e. me) rather than to "to" address. This is pretty useless, however I can't see any way to influence if it shopuld the from or to address in Card View with local folders. Am I missing something?

Card View within a 'normal' email account shows either to or from as you'd expect, and therfore works fine.
