When sending an email using the keyboard shortcut, the settings tell me that I can set TB to give me a confirmation prompt. Why can't I get a confirmation prompt when using the Send button? Is there any way to make TB do that?

I set TB to run a spell check before sending, and that gives me an opportunity to cancel the Send operation. But it only works if the email contains a misspelling.

Tuesday Oct. 7, our ISP converted to a new e-mail program. I could NOT log in/on I called our ISP's help desk. The 'technician' could not help me log in to our Thunderbird POP 3 account. He had me, WITHOUT asking if I had essential - legal - medical-etc. e-mails in the IN BOX or in folders! He NEVER warned/cautioned all ?would? be lost - GONE.

I URGENTLY need to recover all TB POP3 IN BOX & e-mails in folders. I need to access legal messages today, if possible.

If Mozilla does not have a recovery program, what do I do? I am not seeking to recover ' deleted messages (unless his having me change from the POP3 account to a 'new' IMAP account is the same as ' "delete" '.

anyone know how to recover my email contacts in latest version ot TB, theyve dissapeared since using spam aniallater , with is now uninstalled.

i have the same email acct on my other pc , could i recover everything from therte as its intact thanks

also my TB spam filters have now dissapeared [but still seem to be working] but filtering the wrong things. thanks if anyone can help

I'd like to sync my address books across several computers and my Android phone.

I don't know about the security of Carddave or Exchange, like, is the traffic encrypted, and is the database at the cloud end encrypted too.

Since I can log on to my Google account, and see and edit my address book, I expect those address are not encrypted.

Rather, I'd like to use my syncing program (Mega) to sync the sqllite files (I guess T-Bird used to call them MAB files) and any other needed files directly.

Question 1) How do I find the name of the address book (abook-n.sqlite-wal) related to the name like "Family Contacts"?

Question 2) What other files will I need to sync? any index files? a master list?

Question 3) If I install Thunderbird for Android, where should I put these files so Android finds them?

Hi, I've been using tab groups for a while and i had some pretty important tabs save there. I wanted to know if they get deleted after a while or not, Because all of mine suddenly disappeared. And also is there anyway to get them back?

FINALLED, I TRIED THE DEVELOPER VERSION: NO MORE CRASHES! I READ THE RESPONSES FROM YOUR CLUELESS STAFF TO OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME TROUBLE. THIS IS NOT A WINDOWS ERROR; THIS IS A FIREFOX APPLICATION ERROR. MAYBE SOME OF YOUR FIREFOX DEVELOPER CODERS SHOULD ASSIST THE 32-BIT AND 64-BIT DEVELOPERS. HI all. This is a good one. I recently got a MAC, my first one, so dont know much about it. I installed thunderbird and can receive via IMAP but cant send via SMTP. I have smtp setup EXACTLY how it is on my windows PC which works. When I hit send on a message, it immediately comes back with "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) <maileserver.com> timed out. Try again. This message comes back immediately, as in .000001 second. This particular mail server I own and is on my network, and checking the logs, the request never even gets to the server, so its not a server issue. (Again, it works for all my other devices and other clients). server info, password etc are correct. I tried deleting the account and recreating it but no go. From a command tool, I can telnet to my mail server on port 25 and it answers and I can interact. If I use the built in mac mail client, it works fine. So this is definitely a thunderbird issue from what I can tell. Thunderbird 143.0.1 (aarch64) on 26.0.1 (25A362) Any tips appreciated, Im ready to take a bath with a toaster. Thank you!

On all our computers it seems impossible to sign into Outlook...several laptops and 3 desktop...even a new Apple device. Enter your email address and then taken to the next page (see attachment). sign in works with Edge! This has been happening for maybe a month. Very frustrating! NEVER opens the next security window, the 'spots' just keep moving forever...selecting "Back" just repeats the cycle.

Since the recent Firefox upgrades, I am no longer able to log into the social security site using ID me. Previously, I logged in with no problem but now get a 400 error message saying the website is too large. Of course I have emptied cache and cookies and reloaded Firefox but nothing works. Apparently the error lies within the Firefox upgrade since before upgrading, there never was a problem logging in.

Spinning circle when attempting to view a news articles. Tried other browsers and they all work Ok. My issue it seems with the FireFox browser. Thank you for any help.

Can I safely access my Profile, which is on a Windows partition, when I am using Thunderbird under Linux (Fedora) on a different partition?

My computer is set up to dual boot using Windows 10 and Fedora Linux. I use Thunderbird and access my emails using POP3.

I use Windows most of the time and therefore my Thunderbird profile is on the Windows partition. But when I'm using Linux I sometimes like to be able to access my emails using Thunderbird. I have set up access in the Linux Thunderbird profile so that it points to my profile that is on the Windows partition.

In some earlier versions of Thunderbird that were around in 2022, I found that if I used Linux to open Thunderbird I could access my profile that was on the Windows partition and read and send emails, but then when I rebooted to Windows and tried to run Thunderbird, I found that my profile was broken and Thunderbird under Windows could not get to my emails.

But, confusingly, with some versions of Thunderbird, the Linux version of Thunderbird did not break my profile on the Windows partition.

I tried asking questions about this issue on the Forum back in 2022 but I received answers saying that what I was trying to do was very "dangerous" and I should not even attempt it (even though it did work sometimes with some versions of Thunderbird).

The last time I tried this was in 2022, and I have not tried it since then.

So, my question is "Is Thunderbird robust enough to allow me to access my Windows Thunderbird profile when I am running Thunderbird using Linux (Fedora) on a different partition?

Can the notification for upgrading be controlled on ver 143 on linux. It keeps appearing and as a user I should be able to silience or have it notify me at a period I prefer instead of interrupting browsing.

Using version 143 PIP does not work on different workspaces. If I open PIP the PIP only remains on the desktop that FF is on and the PIP disappears on othe workspaces.

thunderbird won't start after installation giving message that a version is already running. I end the task in task manager and it doesn't help, then restart with same erro. I tried deleting the parent.lock file from the profile and that didn't help. What next? Has anyone solved this issue?

The issue started about one week ago (today is 10/11/25). When I wanted to print while in Firefox browser, the print never executed. Instead the screen froze as did the browser. I had to do some experimenting to use my pointer and open a different browser. Yes - besides the pointer being frozen (all that showed was an hourglass) my keyboard was also frozen. When I finally opened a different browser and printed the same item, no problem. I had to close Firefox to be able to fully use my laptop again. I searched the solutions and none had an effect. Firefox would still freeze/hang/lock up when trying to print. The browser is up to date.

In one of my Firefox installs, the Profiler automatically starts recording every time I open Firefox. There's a button on the right that looks like a speedometer and it is blue until I tell it to stop. Then it is taskbar button color.

Profiler instructions at https://profiler.firefox.com/docs/#/./guide-removing-profiler say to simply drag this button off the toolbar and it will stop record. On restart, it's back on the toolbar, and it's recording.

I have tried refreshing Firefox. Doesn't help.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, and then setting up a new profile. Doesn't help.

I have tried deleting prefs.js. Doesn't help.

I have tried opening up the developer console, opening settings, and unchecking "performance." Doesn't help.

I searched the registry and found a key called MOZ_ENABLE_PROFILER (iirc, something like that). I set it to zero. Doesn't help. I then deleted the key entirely. Doesn't help.

How do I get rid of this thing? It must be a registry setting of some kind, as it appears in whatever Windows account I open Firefox from, but I can't find it. It is deeply frustrating as the computer it is happening on is my oldest computer, and I don't want a recorder running in addition to Firefox.
