You can switch from Google Chrome to Firefox quickly and easily. Firefox can import your bookmarks, browsing history, passwords, and other data from Chrome without deleting anything or changing your Chrome settings. You'll still be able to use Chrome afterward, if needed. Here’s how:

Import your Chrome data to Firefox

Before you begin, save any open tabs in Chrome by bookmarking them into a new folder in your Chrome bookmarks bar (for example, you can name it “Open Tabs”). Bookmark all tabs Chrome MacOS

1. Download and install Firefox

Go to the Firefox download page and install the latest version of Firefox.

2. Exit Google Chrome

Before importing data, make sure Chrome is closed. Click the three-dot menu, and select ExitQuit Chrome.

Note: Starting with Firefox 140, you can’t import passwords from Chrome to Firefox automatically on Windows. You’ll have to import them using a CSV file via the migration wizard. See Import bookmarks and other data from Google Chrome on how to do it.

5. Complete the import

  1. Click Import to begin.
  2. Once the import is finished, click Done.
