Two separate firefox installations merged when I upgraded from 12 to 13
On a different computer, specifically an Asus Eeepc with Linux, it came with Firefox installed. However, that stayed a version 3.0 or somesuch for a very long time, and eventually I realized that it was not set up to update.
No worries, I'll just download the latest version manually. Well, on Linux, Firefox 6 formed its own little sandbox and didn't interfere with the old installation. So I had two separate installations for a while, one old and one new and self-updating. A little weird, but fine. Convenient, even, because I didn't have to worry about the bookmarks or something else changing in an update.
Then the update from Firefox 12 to 13 rolled around, and took over not only the new installation, but (at least) the shortcut icon for the old one.
I can find the new installation pretty easy. Does anybody have any ideas as to how to hunt down the old one?

You installed two firefox, but both firefox has only one profile...
so you can access any one at a time..
Except, I DID have two separate profiles for several months.
When you upgrade it.. it may be merged...
make sure that both are running in different profile..
