I was talking about how much I liked the Mozilla search with friends and when I looked at my home page the search engine had changed to Google. Also, when looking at all the instructions that referred to the Firefox box, I did not see it and I do not ever remember seeing the Firefox box at the top of the page.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).

You see the orange Firefox button when the menu bar is hidden

  • In current Firefox versions it is possible to hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu of a toolbar to make the (orange) Firefox button appear.
  • Tap the Alt key or press the F10 key to bring up the menu bar temporarily if you need to access a menu on it.
  • Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or empty space on the tab bar to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

Thank you for helping me get the Firefox box on my screen. Do you know how to get Mozilla back for my search engine? I used to have it. I currently have Google, with a number of other options, but none of the options are Mozilla, which I loved using.

You're welcome.

What do you mean with Mozilla search?
Google has always been the default search engine.
Firefox uses Google to do searches from the about:home page and Google is also the default search engine for the location bar search and the search bar in the Navigation toolbar.

Hi, Things got quite busy here, so I am just getting back to you. Until recently my search engine was Mozilla. I have a friend that just used it Wed., and 2 more friends that still have it also. They checked when I told them what happened to me. So I just don't know how to get it back.

There is no "Mozilla search engine" - never was and never will be. Why compete with Google, who pays Mozilla like $100 million a year for Google being promtoted as the default search engine in Firefox.
