On the extreme right of that gray bar is a button marked "More". On the menu that opens, "Print" is one of your choices. TB38.2 Win10

This makes what was once a simple one step operation a two step one. Any idea why? Also the "reply all" tab has gone missing. Are these results of Mozilla "improvements'?

ohh just right click the toolbar in question and customize it to your liking.

This is not a Microsoft product where what you see is what you get. Thunderbird is customizable in almost all of it's user interface.

This doesn't work for me. I right click on the grey area right above the text of a message I have selected in the in box. I get the page with the customize page but when I right click and drag them into this grey area nothing happens.

I have similar problem with customize for the Message Pane menu. The only remaining choices appear to be "Separator", "Space", "Forward As" and "Tag". I can also remove/rearrange existing buttons on the bar.

If you right-click a single message in the Thread Pane, you can access a context menu that offers more choices than the message menu, such as "Reply to Sender", "Reply to All", "Reply to List", "Print Preview", "Print" just to name a few. A problem I can see with using the Thread Pane context menu, is that you can select a different message than the one in the Message Pane and you may not realize this when you forward or print the message
