Find, Search Messages never completes. Have tried all fixes.
Hi,
When I use Find > Search Messages, the operation never completes. For example, I will search for all messages for today's date. I see results, but then the operation never completes... just keeps saying "Searching..."
I am a very seasoned Thunderbird user and IT professional – have used Tbird for many years. I have a very large number of folders and sub-folders, and my profile is 12 GB. I have tried all possible solutions I have found on the forums, including deleting all the .msf files, deleting the global-messages-db.sqlite file, compacting folders, restarting, etc. etc.
Thunderbird 24.6.0 Mac OS X 10.7.5
thanks, JC

Did you try Global Search? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/global-search

Global search works instantly.
Find > Search Messages is still not completing, unless I search only a single folder, like Inbox for example... search completes instantly. If I search Local Folders, it never completes, even if I have Search subfolders deselected. I have a very large number of folders, and sub-folders, and sub-sub-folders. My profile size is about 12 GB. My primary drive is an SSD, very fast.
