Win7, Firefox 30 . I followed the instructions to turn off the *click to activate* feature, and it shows up as *false* in about:config...but it is still asking me to click to activate. What am I missing?

I followed the instructions

What instructions?

In the Add-on Manager set your plugins to 'Always activate'. Use that with care, it isn't recommenced to do that for all plugins, e.g. like Java. That's even more important, since you're not using the latest version of Java.

That thread is more than a year old. I think the implementation of the 'click to play' feature has changed since.

In any case, you'd need to allow a plugin only once per site. Firefox will remember that decision. That's still much more safe than allowing it always.

So what plugin are you using?

Can you provide a screenshot? http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem

As said before, if you know what you're doing you can always set the plugin to 'Always activate' in the Add-on Manager.

You can set the default behavior for each plugin on the Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins page.
