I have just completed migrating my files and settings from my (not so) old windows 10 desktop computer to my windows 11 laptop. Everything seems to have gone ok, except that the Firefox bookmarks were installed and only work in the private browsing window. When I start Firefox normally, the window that opens does not have the bookmarks, and even if I enter a web address manually in this window, it will not connect. I can choose "New window" in the drop down menu and that window will have the bookmarks, but still will not connect. The only way to get the bookmarks and also be able to connect to the internet is to choose "New private window" from the drop down menu. The problem with that is that there have been occasions when I have had a need to examine my browsing history, which I can't do since Firefox doesn't save the history when in private window mode. I have tried the procedure to sync bookmarks, history, etc., but the procedure is somewhat confusing and didn't work for me. Can you simplify the procedure for me? Thanks, John Blakley

On all our computers it seems impossible to sign into Outlook...several laptops and 3 desktop...even a new Apple device. Enter your email address and then taken to the next page (see attachment). sign in works with Edge! This has been happening for maybe a month. Very frustrating! NEVER opens the next security window, the 'spots' just keep moving forever...selecting "Back" just repeats the cycle.

Hi,

the password manager (about:logins) is a very handy feature, i use all the time. However, tehre is so many pages where the FF password manager fails to suggest the correct login user name to fill in the "user" field. (Interestingly, the password fill is much more accurate).

To start with: for logging in on THIS VERY SITE for posting this question, I needed to:

  1. manually open the FF logins page
  2. enter the url "accounts.firefox.com" for search
  3. pick the entry
  4. copy the username
  5. swithc back window
  6. paste and confirm.
  7. repeat for password (I think - or came this at least suggest correctly maybe)

What's going wrong? Is my installation broken - or is this for all users the same experience?

Tks

I always have two windows of Firefox open, one for each monitor. Up until recently Firefox would always restore both windows exactly as they were before I right clicked the Firefox icon in the taskbar and clicked "close all windows". This week however my browser will only restore one of the two windows I had open, and I have to restore the other one manually which is annoying. Can anyone help me bring back the old behavior so it restores both my windows every time?

For the past few days, I have been having problems with using Google apps and websites on Firefox. Gmail is very buggy, often not allowing me to search past emails, restarting on its own, and generally being very unstable. I've also experienced problems with Google Maps and Drive. These problems are not happening on other browsers like Microsoft Edge. I have tried clearing my cache/cookies, and using troubleshooting mode, but that did not solve the issues. I use Google a lot, so I will need to turn to another browser if I can't get this fixed. I've used Firefox for years and would love to continue to do so if there is some way to address this issue.

I updated my firefox browser on October 6th and ever since then, whenever I press ALT to switch to a different application (I use ALT + Tab to switch windows) I go back in a tab's history. This never happened before and I'm not sure how to go about disabling whatever function this is. I've checked in the about:config section of firefox but I don't know which of these options is for this function, if it's even in here. Any advice or help would be appreciated!

I am having a problem with a 502 Bad Gateway error which will not go away. There was originally a real problem, but it has been cleared up. I am trying to access an e-book on Libby from my local library site when the error occurs. The link works without any problem in Microsoft Edge. It used to work in Firefox as well, until the temporary problem occurred. I have clear my Firefox cache, but this has not resolved the problem. Somewhere Firefox has stored something which is creating this spurious error, but I have been unable to find it. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I'm not able to uninstall PWA apps created in Firefox 143.0.1 using Windows 11 usual uninstalling procedure. If i click "uninstall" in Windows Start Menu the app remains installed. PWA apps created with Firefox do not show on Windows 11 installed apps list so I cannot uninstall them. I haven't found any guide on the web on how to uninstall PWA created from Firefox. So, how can I effectively uninstall those PWA apps? Thank you in advance for your kind answer. Regards.

Every time I update my drivers for Nvidia it of course reloads the screens. This causes all the tabs in Firefox to become separated on the Windows 11 taskbar. In other words, it looks like I have a new firefox window open for each tab (which I'm assuming is how it works but it's hidden most of the time).

It's not a HUGE deal per se, but it is kind of annoying. I have to close then reopen Firefox.
