Whenever Firefox offers or I request a translation it always, without fail, offers Estonian as the destination language.

I deleted all the languages from the app (or whatever) and just downloaded the ones I require but that made no difference.

I recently bought a new laptop running on Windows 11 Pro. All my settings for languages (English GB) in Firefox are the same as my old laptop, which was Windows 10.

On my W11Pro laptop, the translation icon doesn't appear when I highlight a portion of text in a foreign language, whereas it did appear in my old laptop. If I right click on the highlighted text I can access "translate selected text" but nothing happens when I click on that. Translating an entire webpage works fine, it's just the highlighted text that doesn't.

I'm not very technically minded, so any answer will need to be in simple terms! Thanks.

Firefox updated itself recently (150.0.1) 64-bit Windows and since then we have US English and our other languages 'Real' English ;-) French and Greek disappeared. We reinstalled them but - sorry about this guys - we would like to remove US English please. I followed some advice from Google but couldn't locate the US-English Dictionary.

The problem I encountered was that at least eight options, all in English, appeared in the browser's privacy and security settings, this has been in Simplified Chinese in previous versions of Firefox.

As a simplified Chinese user and English level of the user, I feel very inconvenient when using, I hope to get your response, thank you!

The original is simplified Chinese, I use the translator to translate into English, if there are mistakes please forgive me.

It's checked in settings, the US english language pack is installed, I did the about:config thing as well and it's still not working. Oh yeah, also used troubleshoot mode - turned off all addons - and still doesn't work.

If I search for something else it comes up in English. I have gone to settings and set my default as English. I have followed all the instructions, but I still get French. How can I change this. I am not French speaking.

I am using Firefox version 150 with the Japanese UI, and I found untranslated text. Please report this issue to Bugzilla. I cannot create an account. The phrase is: "The server at ... is taking too long to respond."

I used to be able to highlight any non-English text, right click it, and choose "Translate Selection to English" to get a popup window with a translation. It would auto-detect the language I had highlighted and then give me the English translation.

As of a few days ago it only defaults to translating from English to Japanese. It no longer auto detects the language I've highlighted, and it no longer defaults to an English translation. I have to manually change the languages in the drop downs in the popup window each time.

Every help article I've found on google says I need to change language options in the settings, but they're all set to English. There's no mention of Japanese anywhere, yet Firefox insists that I want Japanese translations. My PC is also set to English.

Apparently sometimes it can still auto-detect the language since I just tried to make a screenshot and it was able to detect French -> Japanese, although many other times it thinks the Russian (or whatever) text I've highlighted is English.

Why cant I set it to always translate spanish to english??? That option is greyed out and every time i encounter a spanish page I have to manually translate it. Im getting tired of that.
