My Windows 11 PC crashed but i was able to recover copy of my firefox profile. I copied previous profile folders and i am able to access those profiles using firefox.exe -P command.

But profiles don't show up in the new profile switcher. How can i restore them to modern way profiles work.

i don't want to setup accounts and sync for my profiles.

Until I close the following message that appears on Firefox Screen other apps are slow or won't open.

Box with Red X - This profile was last used with a newer version of this application. Please create a new profile. OK

I followed the directions to CREATE A NEW FIREFOX PROFILE.... ,, created as Personal #1 & Personal #2 perhaps I did something wrong......Help!!!!

I'm using the latest version of Firefox on macOS Tahoe. Over the past 2–3 days, Firefox has started behaving unexpectedly.

Issues:

   Firefox automatically creates additional Dock icons while I'm only using a single Firefox window. Even if I remove the extra icon, it reappears after some time.

   When I open a different Firefox profile, it launches under a new Dock icon instead of using the existing Firefox icon. As a result, I end up with three separate Firefox Dock icons simultaneously.

   Firefox also fails to play pronunciation audio on some dictionary websites (e.g., JapanDict). Clicking the speaker icon produces only a brief click with no spoken audio. The same pronunciation works correctly in Safari, suggesting a Firefox-specific issue.

Expected behavior:

   Firefox should use a single Dock icon (unless intentionally running separate app instances).

   Different profiles should not create unexpected duplicate Dock icons.

   Pronunciation audio should play normally, as it does in Safari.

Environment:

   macOS Tahoe (latest version)

   Firefox (latest version)

My firefox profile keeps showing as repeatedly being deleted then saved in one drive - see screenshot. It's using a lot of memory anyway - nearly 3GB currently with 10 tabs, i've tried most fixes on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-uses-too-much-memory-or-cpu-resources

I don't think it used to do this repeated profile deleting thing - any suggestions?

Why do I continue to receive a message from Firefox after creating a New Profile?

A new profile PERSONAL #2 was created following the Steps to Create a New Firefox Profile.

What did I do wrong? how to correct, so that I stop receiving the error message?

im loged in to firefox and i want to change from 1 of my profiles to another one of my 3 profile but it wont let me choose on of the other profile it show them to me but cant pick one ?i have work to do and i cant get anythiing done because of this ?

I've been using the extension "Tree Style Tab" and "TST Colored Tabs." I've been looking for a way to disable the native Firefox tab bar, whether on top of the window or to the left side. I haven't been successful on my own.

Opening that profile folder shows an empty directory. The only other real profile on disk is: agwp164m.default-release

We successfully proved userChrome.css loads in a different test profile (Profile 1) because the toolbar turned red. Therefore, the CSS mechanism itself works on your machine.

My conclusion is that your Firefox profile registration has become inconsistent. Firefox appears to be using a profile that does not correspond cleanly to the profile folders you're seeing in Explorer. At this point I would:

Back up the entire folder: (NOTE: DONE - backed to to another drive) C:\Users\dmerc\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

Keep using the profile that contains your extensions and recent history. Avoid deleting any profiles or profile folders.

Post the details you've collected to either: the Mozilla Support forum, or r/firefox

The good news is that your current extensions and recent history are still accessible, so this doesn't look like data loss. The profile mapping itself needs to be untangled before custom CSS can reliably be applied.

My little brother signed me out of my mozilla account while trying to login to his school account using my computer yesterday. Now, even after signing his account out AND removing his account entirely from my firefox, I'm unable to login using my credentials on the "original profile" which is what I've always used. This is the message I get when trying to login:

This profile was previously synced to a different account To keep your data organized and secure, each Firefox profile can only be synced to one account. To sign in using (email)@gmail.com, create a new profile.

He wasn't even able to fully login with his account, and even after completely removing his account from my firefox (as far as I know) I'm not able to sign into the original profile at *all*, even though that's what I've always used. Does anyone have a solution for this?

When I try to login with my Firefox account to configure Sync, I get a message that says that I am logged on to a different profile and asks if I want to switch. If I switch, I get the same result with the other profile. There is only one profile folder in the Profiles directory, there are no other files or folders. What should I do?

Or to open the profile selection sidebar?

I don't see it in about:keyboard but maybe there's something else somewhere.

If not, what's the quickest and easiest way to switch profiles?

I created a new profile on my account. Whenever I am in the original profile, I can click on the new profile and it will open a new window with a new icon. However, I notice that under the new profile, it is not signed in. When I try to sign in, I get an error that says

Account already in use xxx@gmail.com is already signed in to the “original” profile

You can only associate this account with one profile on this computer.

Then it forces me to switch back to the original profile. This tells me that the profile is not syncing for access across devices.

This is happening on my macbook.

i have been with Firefox since it started and now you have changed it to the pint where i am leaving it . i want my original profile i do not want any old profiles where i lose everything like bookmarks and everything i have added extensions you forced me to leave to leave unless i can keep the old profile always see you Firefox you have just forced me to go to chrome thanks a lot unless i can keep the old profile original prpofile and still update the versions as need ed other wise good bye to you
