I installed Silverlight (as prompted to do by Firefox when I tried to open a slide show).

Now when I try to open the slide show I get a logo and button to "Activate Silverlight", but in Firefox nothing happens when I press it. No slides, no error message, nothing. The same thing works fine in Internet Explorer. I can even see the slides in Firefox, if I change the setting for Silverlight to "Always activate". But on two different computers (Windows 7 and Windows 8) it doesn't work on the default "Ask to Activate" setting (which is the one I want to keep, thanks very much).

This has been very frustrating, only tempered by the knowledge that I have found two workrounds (changing the setting or changing to a different browser).

Did you try to reload the page (F5 or click Reload) after changing the Silverlight setting to allow?

Yes, of course I did. I also restarted the computer several times. As I have already mentioned, I have exactly the same problem on another computer; this has had both Firefox and Silverlight for a long time.

Well, I apologise. I didn't literally try F5 because I presumed that restarting Firefox, and/or restarting the computer, would do the same thing. I have to admit that using F5 does make it work.

I still don't see why restarting Firefox wouldn't automatically reset this, and I certainly don't see why it does nothing with no error message, but I do have to admit that this makes it work.
